TravelBudget is an expense tracking app for travelers on iOS. It helps you track spending across multiple currencies while keeping all your financial data private and under your control.
Data Collection
TravelBudget does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, or any other identifying information. All data you enter, including trips, expenses, budgets, categories, and receipt photos, is stored locally on your device only. We cannot access this data and it is never uploaded to servers we control.
Local Data Storage
Your trip and expense data is stored exclusively on your iPhone or iPad. This includes:
- Trip details (name, dates, budget, currencies)
- Individual expenses (amounts, categories, notes, dates)
- Receipt photographs
- App preferences and settings
This data never leaves your device unless you choose to export it yourself.
Exchange Rates
To convert currencies, TravelBudget retrieves exchange rate data from third-party providers. These requests are made to fetch current rates and do not include any personal information or details about your expenses. Exchange rates are cached locally for offline use.
In-App Purchases
If TravelBudget offers a Pro upgrade, this purchase is handled through Apple's App Store. Apple processes all payment information; we do not see or store your payment details. Purchase verification uses standard App Store receipt validation.
Analytics
TravelBudget may collect anonymous usage analytics to understand which features are used and how the app can be improved. This data does not include any personal information, expense details, or trip information. Analytics, if present, use anonymous identifiers that cannot be linked to you personally.
No Third-Party Tracking
TravelBudget contains no advertising networks, no social media SDKs, and no cross-app tracking. Your financial data remains private.
Permissions
TravelBudget requests only the permissions necessary for its features:
- Camera/Photos (optional): Only if you choose to capture or attach receipt photos
TravelBudget does not request access to your contacts, location, microphone, or calendar.
Data Deletion
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can delete individual trips or expenses within the app. Deleting the app removes all local data permanently.
Offline Operation
TravelBudget works fully offline. You can log expenses, view your budget, and manage trips without an internet connection. Exchange rates are cached from the last time you had a connection.
Children's Privacy
TravelBudget is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
Updates to this policy will be reflected with a modified effective date.
