MoatCheck is a company research and portfolio analysis workspace. This page summarizes the data flows reflected in the application. It is not a complete list of infrastructure or provider terms; consult linked providers for their policies.

Account and saved workspace data

Creating an account uses Supabase Auth with an email address and password. When signed in, saved portfolio configurations, holdings, recommendations, backtests, and stress-test records are associated with your account and stored through the application's Supabase backend. Some account actions, including saving formal Advisor recommendations, may send email to the account address when delivery is configured.

Browser storage and requests

The application uses browser storage for authentication session state and some workspace preferences. Requests to MoatCheck's API include the information needed for the requested research or calculation. Avoid entering sensitive information that is not needed for your analysis.

Market and research data

Market and company observations are collected server-side from enabled providers and public sources, including financial-data providers and SEC EDGAR. Enabled RSS feeds may provide event context. Provider availability and terms vary. The application does not send your account password to market-data providers.

Infrastructure and security

Supabase provides authentication and database services. The application transmits API traffic over HTTPS and uses authenticated access controls for saved user records. See Supabase's privacy policy for its practices.

Deletion and browser controls

The in-app privacy controls can request deletion of persisted portfolio and related quantitative records covered by the deletion operation. This does not delete the Supabase Auth account or emails already delivered. Browser storage can be cleared through your browser settings; doing so may sign you out or remove local preferences.
