Privacy Policy

Vitae is a study planner for iOS with focus sessions built in. It schedules study blocks, tracks exams and subjects, and plays guided sessions, ambient sound and binaural audio. Your privacy is important to us.

Data Collection

Vitae does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, or any other identifying detail. Everything you enter, your subjects, exams, study plan, availability, custom sessions, settings and session history, is stored on your device only. We cannot read it and it is never uploaded to a server we control.

Audio Usage

The application only plays audio files bundled with the app, generated on your device. Audio is neither recorded nor transmitted, and the microphone is never accessed. All audio processing happens locally on your device.

In-App Purchases

Premium is a one-time purchase handled through Apple's App Store. Apple handles all payment processing; we do not see or store your payment information. RevenueCat handles purchase verification and restore, using an anonymous identifier and the App Store receipt only.

Analytics

Vitae uses PostHog to measure how the app is used, so we know which features are worth improving. Events are things like a session being started or completed, a study block being created, or a screen being opened. They are attached to an anonymous device identifier generated by PostHog, together with the date of your first launch. No name, email address or account is involved, and the content you type, your subject names, exam titles and custom session names, is not sent. Analytics data is processed on PostHog's United States infrastructure.

Other Third-Party Services

Vitae contains no advertising networks, no social media SDKs, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking. Aside from PostHog analytics and RevenueCat purchase verification described above, nothing leaves your device.

Notifications

Notifications are optional and are asked for only when you enable reminders. They are local notifications scheduled on your device, for your planned study blocks and your daily streak reminder. There is no push server and no push token is registered.

Review Prompts

After you have used the app for a while, Vitae may ask once whether you are enjoying it, and if you say yes it opens Apple's standard review prompt. Your answer is stored on your device to control when, or whether, you are ever asked again. Declining is remembered, and you can also leave a review at any time from Settings.

Permissions

Required permissions are minimal: audio playback, including background audio so a session keeps running when you leave the app, and optional notifications for reminders. Vitae does not request access to your microphone, camera, contacts, location, photos, or calendar.

Data Storage

All data generated by the app is stored locally on your device. Deleting the app removes all local data permanently. You can also reset your statistics from the Progress screen at any time.

Children's Privacy

Vitae is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

Updates to this policy will be reflected with a modified effective date.

Your Rights

No account and no personal identifier is collected, so there is nothing tied to you by name that we could look up, export or delete on request. Your study data stays under your own device-level control: reset your statistics in the app, or delete the app to remove everything.
